01 Accepting these terms

These Terms & Conditions (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Oleksandr Nechpai and Vitalii Kletsko, jointly operating as Nordbytenova ("we", "us", "our"), and govern your use of the friggio mobile app and related services (together, the "app"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Your licence to use the app is set out in our separate End User License Agreement (EULA), which applies together with these Terms. The app is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). If you are under that age, please don't use the app. If you use the app on behalf of someone else, you confirm you're authorised to accept these Terms for them.

02 Your licence to use friggio

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use one copy of the app on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.

You agree not to:

• copy, sell, rent, sublicense, or otherwise distribute the app;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except where the law expressly permits it;
• modify, adapt, or create derivative works from the app;
• circumvent rate limits, usage quotas, or any security or access controls;
• use the app to build a competing product, or scrape or harvest data from it;
• use the app in any way that is unlawful, harmful, or interferes with its operation or other users.

We may release updates, and some features may change or be removed over time. We may also require you to install updates so the app keeps working properly.

03 No account & your device

friggio is designed to work without a name, email address, or social login. When you first open the app, it generates a random identifier on your device so your pantry can sync without an account. This identifier is stored in the iOS Keychain and can persist across reinstalls on the same device.

You are responsible for the device on which the app is installed and for anyone who has access to it. Because there's no password to recover your data, keeping access to your device matters. Linking an Apple ID is optional and, where available, simply gives you another way to restore your data. For details on what data the app processes, see our Privacy Policy.

04 friggio Pro & subscriptions

friggio is free to use with certain limits (for example, on the number of receipt scans, saved products, and voice entries). friggio Pro unlocks the full experience as an auto-renewing subscription.

• Billing by Apple. Subscriptions are purchased and billed through your Apple ID using Apple's in-app purchase (StoreKit). We never receive your card or payment details.
• Free trial. If a free trial is offered, it automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel beforehand. Any unused portion of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
• Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Managing & cancelling. You can view, change, or cancel your subscription any time in iOS Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → friggio. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the current paid period.
• Refunds. Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms, not by us.
• Price changes. If we change subscription prices, the change applies to future renewals, and Apple will ask for your consent where required before it takes effect.

Exact prices, trial lengths, and plan options are shown in the app at the point of purchase and on the App Store.

05 Receipt scanning, voice & AI features

Receipt scanning

When you scan a receipt, the photo is sent securely to our servers and on to our receipt-reading providers (currently Google Cloud Vertex AI, with Fireworks AI as a backup) for the sole purpose of extracting the list of items and their likely shelf life. The photo is processed in memory and is not stored on our servers — we keep the extracted items, not the image.

Voice input

Voice entry uses Apple's on-device speech recognition where available, so your speech stays on your device. When an on-device model isn't available for your language, iOS may send audio to Apple's speech-recognition service to convert it to text; friggio receives only the resulting text.

These features rely on automated processing and machine-learning models. Results — such as item names, categories, and shelf-life estimates — may be incomplete or wrong, and you can review and correct them before saving. See section 06 and our Privacy Policy for more.

06 Estimates are not guarantees

friggio helps you keep track of food, but it does not replace your own judgement.

• Expiry dates are typical-shelf-life estimates from each item's category and purchase date — not a guarantee that food is safe or unsafe to eat. Always trust your own eyes and nose, and edit any date when you know better.
• "Money saved" and other figures use estimated prices and are a helpful guide, not exact accounting or financial advice.
• Recipe suggestions are ideas only. You are responsible for checking ingredients, allergens, and safe food handling before cooking or eating.

07 Acceptable use

When using friggio, you agree to use it only for lawful, personal purposes, and not to:

• break any applicable law or infringe anyone's rights;
• upload content that isn't yours to share, or that is illegal, harmful, or offensive;
• interfere with, overload, or disrupt the app, our servers, or our providers;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the app or to other users' data;
• use automated means to access the service beyond normal personal use, or bypass usage quotas and rate limits.

08 Your content & feedback

The pantry items, preferences, and other content you add stay yours. You grant us a limited licence to process and store that content only as needed to operate and improve the app for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you send us feedback, suggestions, or bug reports, you allow us to use them freely to improve friggio, without any obligation to you. You confirm you have the right to share any content you submit.

09 Intellectual property

The app, the "friggio" name and logo, its design, text, graphics, and software are owned by Nordbytenova or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the licence in section 02, these Terms don't transfer any rights to you. You may not use our branding without our prior written permission.

10 Third-party services

friggio relies on third-party services to work, including Apple (App Store distribution, in-app purchases, push notifications, and speech recognition), Google Cloud and Fireworks AI (receipt reading), and our hosting and infrastructure providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms. We're not responsible for third-party services we don't control.

11 Apple App Store terms

Because friggio is distributed through Apple's App Store, the following also apply, and you acknowledge and agree that:

• These Terms are between you and Nordbytenova only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• Your licence to use the app is limited to using it on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
• Nordbytenova, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and for providing any maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide support.
• If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
• Nordbytenova, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability, legal-compliance, and consumer-protection claims, and any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual-property rights.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, have the right to enforce them against you.

12 Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that estimates and results will be accurate. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that can't be excluded under the law, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.

13 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nordbytenova will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or savings, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim, or, where you paid nothing, to a reasonable remedy under the law. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your mandatory consumer rights.

14 Termination

You can stop using friggio at any time by deleting the app, and you can ask us to erase your data (see your rights in the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms or misuse the app. Sections that by their nature should survive — such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply after termination.

15 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll provide notice in the app where appropriate. By continuing to use friggio after changes take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.

16 Dispute resolution

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the app will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If it can't be resolved that way, it will be settled through binding arbitration conducted by a mutually agreed-upon arbitrator, rather than in court; the arbitrator's decision is final and binding. Nothing here removes any mandatory rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.
